Due to low impact nature of Pilates it CAN be great for injruy rehabilitation. However, every injury is different and it is important that you recieve a doctors sign off before attending a class espescially if you have had surgery in the last 12 months. Always let our instructors know if you have an injury so they can modify the exercises to suit your needs. If you have an injury, have had surgery or are suffering with an illness it’s best to contact us via email so we can reccomend the best way forward. It might be best to start with a 1:1 session with our Physio to get an assessment first.

Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise that uses a Reformer machine. It has a sliding carriage and adjustable springs that allow users to perform controlled, low impact movements that focus on building core strength and flexibility. The best way to find out is to come in and join a class - if you have never tried Pilates before we reccomend you attend a Foundations class first.

We suggest arriving 5 mins before the class (though an instructor will be there 15 mins before). This means you can chat through any questions you have or just lay down and get comfy before the session. Lock-out policy: A lock-out policy applies, for the safety of our clients and the flow of the class we are unable to allow entry if you are more than 5 mins late. All first time Reformer clients will need to arrive 10 minutes before their class to receive their induction to the Studio. We recommend that these clients attend a Foundations class first before booking any other class types.

As Reformer Pilates is built on abdonimnal engagemet there can be some challenges when practicing pregnant. For those who are practiced in pilates you can attend classes until you are 14 weeks, but you MUST tell the instructor when you arrive. After 14 weeks we reccomend that you attend a specialst antenatal practionner to support you through your second and third trimester. when you have had your baby, we have specialist Mums and Bubs classes available where you can bring your baby. We reccomend taking the return to exercise slowly by rejoining begginer classes to focus on rebuilding core strength at your own pace. 1-1 and 2-1 classes are also available to those who wish to continue to practice after 14 weeks into their pregnancy.
